Έντονες αντιδράσεις έχει προκαλέσει στην Αγγλία η βράβευση των Coldplay από το BBC στην κατηγορία του Καλλιτέχνη της Χρονιάς, ενώ στην ίδια κατηγορία ήταν υποψήφιος και ο David Bowie.
